Best of 2014: Kevin McDowell makes a return
Kevin McDowell showed early promise as a teenage triathlete winning silver at the first Youth Olympic Games four years ago in Singapore. But just as his career appeared to be on the cusp of exploding, McDowell’s world came crashing down with the diagnosis he had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
After several rollercoaster seasons battling the blood cancer and its ravaging affects on his body, McDowell made his return to ITU racing this year with a bang, securing silver at the Chengdu World Cup.
At a loss for words with today's result. Hasn't really sunk in yet. Thank you for all the messages! Happy to be back doing what I love!

McDowell also debuted in his first World Triathlon Series in London where he finished 27th. Two impressive finishes for any athlete his age, much less one who beat cancer. To read about his journey, check out the link below.
