ITU Technical Official Level 2 Course in Tateyama
The Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC) and ITU hosted the Technical Official Level 2 course in Tateyama, Japan on the eve of the 2012 Asian Championships. Countries represented on the course were Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.
David Hoong, Technical Delegate of the 2012 Tateyama ASTC Triathlon Asian Championships and ITU & ASTC Executive Board member stepped in as facilitator on the first day after weather conditions en route delayed the arrival of the course’s original facilitator, Leslie Buchanan ITU Director of Anti-doping.
Buchanan (CAN) along with Thanos Nikopoulos (GRE) are the two Technical Delegates overseeing all aspects of the London 2012 Olympic Games on behalf of ITU and following Buchanan’s arrival in Tateyama she was very pleased with the active involvement of all the attendees.
“The participants were enthusiastic learners and very involved, asking questions and acting out various scenarios. All of the attendees will now take their knowledge and apply it to the two days of racing ahead,” said Buchanan.
