September in review for World Triathlon Development and Education

September has been a busy month for World Triathlon Athlete Development and Education, with the inclusion of two Continental Athlete Development Camps in Africa and Asia, Silver Lake World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar and Harare OS - World Triathlon Coaches Level 1 Course.

Following the 2021 Africa Triathlon Cup Troutbeck, a group of participating young athletes moved to the 2021 Harare Africa Triathlon - World Triathlon Development Continental Camp. The camp hosted 13 athletes and 2 coaches from Kenya, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa and Zimbabwe - under the guidance of Head Coaches Pamela Fulton (ZIM) and Riana Robertson (RSA).

Kyrgyzstan welcomed 19 athletes and 5 coaches from Iran, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine and the United Arab Emirates in the 2021 Cholpon-Ata Asia Triathlon - World Triathlon Development Continental Camp led by Vicent Beltran (ESP) as Head Coach. The location at the Issyk Kul lake is unique in Asia with its altitude of 1600 meters, clear water and air, and cycling opportunities.

The camp was linked to the 2021 Asia Triathlon Sprint Championships Cholpon-Ata, just as the 2021 Cholpon-Ata World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar, which preceded the competition.

17 September marked the last face-to-face contact day of the 2021 Harare OS - World Triathlon Coaches Level 1 Course. Coach graduates guided and assessed by Neil MacPherson (RSA) World Triathlon Coaching Facilitator returned home with fresh knowledge and learning experiences, to continue growing the sport in their areas.
“Triathlon Zimbabwe received Olympic Solidarity funding to hold a World Triathlon Level 1 Coaches Course. Thank you World Triathlon and Zimbabwe Olympic Committee for enabling this course to happen.” - said Pamela Fulton, vice president of Zimbabwe Triathlon Federation.
