Arne Post and Carina Wasle took the tops spots in the 2007 Gaishorn ITU Winter Triathlon World Cup. Due to the unseasonably warm weather conditions in Europe the event was run as a duathlon, since the lack of snow make cross country skiing impossible.

In the men’s race the first running split was dominated by the Austrian Heinz Planitzer and the Norwegian Arne Post. 30 seconds behind was a large pack that contained many of the other favourites.
With a challenging bike course the positions remained the same with the Czech athlete, Pavel Jindra, advancing into third position at the end of the bike split.
With the second fastest running split Arne Post claimed the 2007 Gaishorn ITU Winter Triathlon World Cup (duathlon) with Pavel Jindra and the Austrian local hero from Gaishorn Heinz Planitzer in third place.

The women’s race started with a fantastic running split from the Austrians Carina Wasle and Marlies Penker. One minute behind was the current world cup leader Sigird Mutscheller.
A dominating performance on the bike segment by home favourites Wasle and Penker, saw them stretch their lead into the second transition. Wasle kept her composure and finished the race over two minutes ahead of her fellow country woman Marlies Penker. Sigrid Mutscheller claimed third place over 4 minutes behind, obviously missing her normally dominating ski split.
